Colombian fans of Paul McCartney who missed out on tickets for this week’s Bogota concert will be able to watch the pop superstar’s performance live on TV, local media reported Tuesday.
Bogota-based public broadcaster Canal Capital confirmed the deal with promoter Fernan Martinez on Monday, according to the newspaper El Espectador.
“For the first time, a historic concert will be broadcast on public radio,” the broadcaster said in a statement. “Canal Capital gives the city and the country a gift.”
The concert fits the goal of Bogota mayor Gustavo Petro to “bring the best content, in this case a great show, to all Colombians,” it added.
Ticket sales for the April 19 concert broke Colombian records. The broadcast begins at 7:30PM on Canal Capital 2 Telmex, 116 Telmex Premium, 107 UNE and 633 DirecTV.
