22 criminals of the notorious Colombian crime syndicate, the “Rastrojos,” turned themselves in Monday morning to authorities.
In a continued effort to dismantle the Rastrojos criminal gang, police authorities participated in the surrender of a group of Rastrojos members in an undisclosed location in the Valle de Cauca department. According to newspaper El Tiempo, the Rastrojos group demobilized, detaining 22 criminals, including a Rastrojos leader, alias “Canada,” and several arms Monday morning.
The Rastrojos criminal band has endured numerous blows this year, specifically the capture and surrender of several Rastrojos leaders in recent months. Their remaining leader, Luis Enrique Calle Serna, was arrested a few weeks ago, following the arrest of his cohort brother, Javier Antonio Calle Serna in May.
In June the gang’s founder, “Diego Rastrojo,” was detained in Venezuela as well as one of the gang’s drug trafficking associates and well known drug lord, “Loco Barrera” in September.
