Leader of AUC Gaitanistas captured

Colombia’s military captured Monday the alleged leader of paramilitary group AUC Gaitanistas in the Antioquia department.

The paramilitary leader ‘Marcos’ was captured after intelligence work by the Army, Colonel Adelmo Fajardo Hernandez, commander of the Fourteenth Brigade, told the media.

The 26-year-old is accused of crimes of terrorism, acts of barbarism, conspiracy to commit crime and murder of protected people.

‘Marcos’ was transferred to Bogota where he awaits his trial.
