Cyclist Sergio Luis Henao has won the 2010 edition of the Vuelta a Colombia. In the final time trial, the youngster successfully defended his lead in the general classification.
Ahead of the final day, Henao had an advantage of three minutes and 12 seconds over Spanish rider Oscar Sevilla.
The time trial took place in the city of Medellin and had a total length of 34,8 kilometers (21.6 miles).
Sevilla did clock the best time of the day, needing 41’46” to finish the course. Henao finish fifth at 1’23”, good enough to secure the overall victory.
As winner of the Vuelta a Colombia (Tour of Colombia), Henao, 23, succeeds Venezuelan José Rujano who finished third in this year’s final classification.
Henao, who rides for Indeportes Antioquia, had already won the Under-23 edition of this race in 2008. Apart from this year’s overall classification, he also took the victory in two stages.
