Four Police arrested as part of criminal gang

Four National Police officers on Friday have been exposed as part of a criminal gang after investigation in the Colombia’s western department of Choco.

Authorities reported the capture of 14 members of the criminal group known as “Renacer”, including four National Police Officers.

The announcement comes following months of investigation in the San Juan region of Choco department, at the end of which four men registered as National Policemen assigned to the municipality of Istmina were identified as members of the criminal gang.

The 14 alleged members of Renacer have been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, drug trafficking and forced displacement.
