‘ELN’ kidnaps 3 Choco miners during raid

A group of 11 men allegedly belonging to Colombia’s guerrilla network ELN kidnapped three miners on Monday in the municipality of Bagado in the northwest department of Choco.

The miners were working at the Dugura mine in the sector of Playa Rica when it was raided, and they were abducted at about noon, according to unofficial reports.

Local authorities do not yet know the identities or whereabouts of the missing persons, but have begun initial investigations into the case.
