A bomb allegedly planted by guerrillas of Colombia’s second largest rebel group ELN killed one and injures three in the north of the country Saturday.
The bomb attack took place in the municipality of El Tarra, a hotbed of rebel and drug trafficking activity miles from the Venezuelan border.
According to reports, several explosives were detonated in a rural area of the municipality when a group of civilians, accompanied by a soldier, passed.
The injured were taken to the nearby city of Cucuta for treatment.
El Tarra lies in the Catatumbo region where, apart from the ELN, the FARC and several drug trafficking organizations are active because of its crucual location near Venezuela.
