‘El Cebollero’ surrenders to authorities

Alleged member of the ‘Office of Envigado’ surrendered to authorities
in Medellin Saturday. He had been in hiding. “El Cebollero” was
released over a procedural error last week.

The alleged criminal surrendered at the ‘Las Americas’ hospital in Medellin where he was treated for life-threatening heart problems, the city’s ombudsman said.

‘El Cebollero’ is accused of being one of the heads of the Office of Envigado, a paramilitary group founded by ‘Don Berna’ after the demobilization of the AUC. The suspect denies being part of any criminal organization and says he is a simple businessman.
