Defense minister’s aircraft makes security landing in Medellin

An aircraft carrying Colombia’s minister of defense and chief of national police made a security landing in Medellin on Wednesday.

The King Air 350 was headed to Bogota when the plane’s braking system presented problems. Pilots responded by landing the aircraft in Medellin’s Olaya Herrera Airport.

A statement from the Colombian Air Force confirmed that passengers, crew members and pilots landed safely.

“The incident did not endanger the aircraft, crew and its passengers, who exited the aircraft on their own.”

Authorities and the Colombian Air Force were reported to in the process of determining possible causes of the incident.
