Colombia’s military captures 26 illegal armed group members

Colombia’s military announced the capture of 26 members of illegal armed groups Sunday, following operations carried out over the weekend in eight separate departments.

The captured men allegedly included FARC guerrillas, neo-paramilitaries and members of criminal networks, according to daily El Espectador.

As well as those captured, the troops recovered 623 rounds of ammunition, a grenade, 13 handguns, two motorcycles, cell phones, computers and hallucinogenic drugs, El Espectador reported.

The operations were carried out in the departments of Magdalena, Cesar, Valle, Cauca, Tolima, Meta, Caqueta, Antioquia, and the city of Bogota.
