Colombia’s Falcao 2nd most effective forward in 2011

Colombia’s Radamel Falcao was the world’s second top goal scorer in soccer, the 2011 rankings of the International Federation of Football History & Statistics released Friday show.

The Atletico Madrid player was only superseded by Argentine Lionel Messi, who scored 19 times in 2011; two times more than Falcao. Third in the ranking is the Jordanian Hasan Abdel Fattah Hasan Mahmoud who scored 16 times.

Soccer team Tolima was teh best of Colombian teams in the global 2011 ranking. The team occupied the 71st spot in a ranking led by Spanish FC Barcelona. The Ibague-based team was followed by the latest league champions Junior Barranquilla (79), and Bogota teams Santa Fe (132) and La Equidad (184).
