Colombian reps head to Mexico for tourism fair

Colombian tourism representatives head to the International Tourism Fair of the Americas (Fita) 2011, held this year in Mexico City from September 22-25.

The event seeks to “gather tourism professionals from all around the globe with the aim to boost the promotion and commercialization of tourism products and tourist destinations.”

Colombia’s participation will be marked by a stand sponsored by the Tourism Promotion Fund of the Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Industry and Tourism. Organized by Colombian export and tourism promoter Proexport, the stand will be represented by 12 businesses from Colombia’s most popular tourism destinations.

The objective of their participation is to identify the most attractive elements of Colombia’s tourism potential in order to market it to Mexico, and other participating countries. The national business representatives are All Reps, Panamericana, Tesoro Tours, Solways, IDT, Aviatur, and Viajes Chapinero from Bogota; Global Hotels, Decameron, and Corporacion Turismo CTG in Cartagena, Rioja (Cali), and Travel Solutions from Medellin.
