Bogota giants Millonarios play host to second-placed Junior with the winner guaranteed to occupy a top spot in the come the end of the weekend.
Millonarios have endured an interesting week to say the least.
First of all they plunged the whole history of Colombian soccer into potential chaos with the revelation that they may give two of their titles back due to them being won while the club was owned by a notorious criminal.
A few days later they endured their worst defeat in their history with an 8-0 humiliation at Real Madrid, and then to rub salt in the wound they lost 1-0 at Boyaca Chico, a defeat which saw their lead at the top disappear.
Junior go into the clash still with the only unbeaten record in the league, although they would have been disappointed with a 1-1 draw in midweek.
Meanwhile Independiente Medellin will be full of confidence going into their clash with struggling Deportivo Cali after their 5-0 success over Real Cartagena on Wednesday.
The victory, their largest in the league this season, sent a message to the rest of the league that they have come a long way since a 3-0 defeat at the hands of fierce rivals Atletico Nacional a few weeks ago.
Nacional themselves have still to taste defeat since the first round of matches in July and they will be looking to extend this impressive run when Envigado visit on Sunday.
