Colombian authorities Tuesday evening confirmed another 19 AH1N1 cases in the
country, raising the number of patients carrying the flu to 221.
The new cases were reported in Bogota (9), Barranquilla (1), Medellin (1), Chia (1), Girardot (1), San Andres (1), Cali (2), Armenia (1), Calarca (1) and San Gil (1).
Eight people died because of the swine flu, six in Bogota, one in Soacha and one in Viterbo.
Since the break out of the virus, Colombian authorities issued an
alert for possible swine flu in 5270 cases. 2510 people are currently considered
“suspicious cases” because of symptoms that resemble that of AH1N1.
