Colombian civil aviation authorities approved a series of new flight routes that will link the Andean country with international destinations in Central America, the Caribbean and Europe, as well as a range of national destinations.

Costa Rican carrier Lacsa was authorized to open a flight between San Jose, the capital of central american country, and Colombia’s second largest city Medellin. The flight will operate four times a week.
German carrier Lufthansa was approved to operate a Frankfurt – Bogota – Frankfurt flight, which will run five times a week.
Colombian airline Aero Republica will now be eligible to run three weekly return flights between Cucuta and Panama City; seven weekly return flights from Bogota to the Puerto Rican capital of San Juan with a stop in Panama city; seven weekly return flights between Bogota and the Honduran city of San Pedro Sula with a stop in Panama City, seven weekly return flights between Bogota and the Nicaraguan capital city Managua with a stop in Panama City; and seven weekly return flights between Bogota and the Mexican tourist hot spot of Cancun with a stop in Panama City.
Colombian carrier Avianca will open two weekly flights between the central city of Pereira and the Caribbean Colombia island of San Andres. Another biweekly flight between El Salvador and Bogota with a stop in the Dutch Antilles island of Curacao was also approved.
Colombian airline Aires plans to operate biweekly flights between Bogota and each of the cities of Mitu, Puerto Carreño and Puerto Inirida. A Bogota to San Jose del Guaviare flight will run six times a week.
Civil aviation authorities advised Aires that it must improve its quality of services, as well as avoid lengthy delays, the over selling of seats and flight cancellations.
