Clinton to visit Colombia in June

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit Colombia in June, government sources in Bogota confirmed to Spanish press agency Efe on Thursday.

According to the Spanish newswire, the U.S. secretary of state will meet with President Alvaro Uribe and Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez on June 8 and 9 following a meeting of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States in Lime, Peru.

Colombian newspaper El Espectador reported that Clinton will visit two cities during her stay in the Andean country.

Clinton will be the first minister of the Barack Obama administration to visit Colombia.
