Bomba Estereo to tour Colombia for album release

Colombian sensation “Bomba Estereo” will celebrate the release of their new album “Elegancia Tropical” with a tour of their home country between October and November.

One month after the launch of their latest album “Elegancia Tropical,” Bomba Estereo has announced that they will be giving a tour of Colombian concerts in Cali, Bogota, Medellin and Puerto Colombia.

The first show will kick off the tour on Friday, October 27 in Cali, the salsa capital of the western Valle de Cauca department, where the group will be performing with various other artists. Tickets will be available between $5 and $22, and can be bought at Colboletos.com.

The hip hop band will continue their tour in the country’s capital Bogota on October 31, tickets available at Tuboleta.com. From there Bomba Estereo moves on to Puerto Colombia on November 4 in the Caribbean Atlantico department, where the group originally began the musical process of “Elegancia Tropical” two years ago.

The last show of the tour for now is set to take place on November 17 in Colombia’s second largest city Medellin. Tickets are approximately $18 and can be purchased at Colboletos.com.

Band members Liliana Saumet (vocals), Simon Mejia (bass), Julian Salazar (guitar), and Kike Egurrola (drums) tend to change their style often, most recently describing themselves as “electro tropical…with a lot of flavor!”

“Elegancia Tropical” is the third album of the group that formed in 2005, following the previous albums “Volumen 1” (2006) and “Estalla” (2008).

According to the artists, their most recent 11-track album that mixes african rhythms such as kuduro, rap, and hip hop makes more of a presence. “The songs are more sensitive despite being much more club-like,” said lead singer Li Saumet, according to newspaper El Espectador.
