Bogota to cooperate with Brazil on recycling

Colombia’s capital Bogota will cooperate with Brazil on issues regarding recycling, the city’s mayor confirmed on Monday.

In a meeting aimed at discussing topics such as conflict, poverty and social segregation, Bogota Mayor Gustavo Petro and former Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva agreed upon a cooperation plan between Colombia’s capital and Brazil.

“Here begins a scenario of greater rapprochement between one of the most successful countries in reducing poverty and one of the cities in Latin America that has been most successful in reducing poverty,” Gustavo Petro told Colombian radio station W after the meeting.

“There will be an intense collaboration between the Brazilian government and the city of Bogota,” the mayor said.

“Brazil is one of the vanguards in the world regarding population recycling and recycling technology,” Petro added.
