Beauty queens head to Colombia’s Caribbean

Seven beauty queens relax, soak up the sun, and pose for fans and reporters in Cartagena as the last stop in their two-week long nationwide tour, Caribbean Coast newspaper El Universario reported.

The national beauty pageant hopefuls landed in Colombia’s famous coastal city Monday and met up with current Miss Colombia Catalina Robayo, who helped coordinate the event. They arrived at the Hotel Estelar Grand Playa de Manzanillo, where they were met by bagpipers, drummers, and anxious admirers.

Beauties from the departments of Antioquia, Arauca, Caqueta, Cesar, Choco, Norte de Santander, and Sucre are participating in the tour finale.

Miss Bolivar reiterated her supreme confidence in how she will represent Cartagena’s department, saying that she’s a girl who knows what she wants.

The Miss Colombia pageant is set to take place November 14.
