Avianca opens San Salvador-Bogota direct route

Colombia’s largest airline Avianca announced on Friday it will open a new direct route linking the Colombian capital city of Bogota with withe the El Salvador capital of San Salvador on August 9.

The airline plans to fly an Airbus A-319, which offers 12 business class seats and 108 economy class seats, once a day, making it the first and only airline to link the two cities.

Travellers on the new route will be able to connect to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas and New York in the United States and Toronto in Canada. They will also be able to get connecting flights to South American capitals and Europe.

Avianca inaugurated a new direct flight between Madrid and the central Colombian city of Medellin last week.
