Authorities confirm first three cases of AH1N1 in Antioquia

Colombian authorities confirmed three new cases of swine flu, or AH1N1, two of which in Medellin. The
total number of patients carrying the virus in Colombia is now 16.

Antioquia Health Secretary Carlos Mario Rivera Escobar, said that the patients do not require hospitalization and are treated at home in isolation.

The new cases are a nine-year-old girl who attends a school in New York and is now in Medellin, a 31-year-old woman who also lives in Medellin and a 54-year-old peasants of the municipality Guatape.

There are nine suspected cases of the AH1N1 in Antioqia.
