Authorities capture ELN leader

ELN leader José ‘Nacho Leder’ Ignacio Sánchez was captured in Arauca in a joint operation by the army and D.A.S, the Colombian F.B.I.

‘Nacho Leder’ was second in command in Domingo Laín front of the ELN. According to the armed forces, ‘Nacho Leder’ took care of finances. He was also protector and right hand man of ELN bosses. He is believed to have worked in drug trafficking with commanders ‘Lennis’ and ‘Felipe’.

Suárez said ‘Nacho Leder’ had been wanted by the National Prosecutor General for exchanging cocaine base for supplies, weapons and explosives for the guerrilla organization.
