Colombian authorities captured alleged members of the paramilitary
Anti-terrorist Revolutionary Army of Colombia (ERPAC) for the bombing of the water
supply of Villavicencio that left the Meta capital without water for
over a week.
According to authorities, the captured men are responsible for the bombing and all are part of the ERPAC that is allegedly led by paramilitary drug lord ‘Cuchillo’, one of Colombia’s most wanted men.
The two detainees, captured in Popayán, Cauca and Vista Hermosa, Meta, are both said to be part of the paramilitary organization of Oliveiro Pedro ‘Cuchillo’ Castillo and held responsible for extortion, drug trafficking and the blowing up of the Villavicencio aqueduct.
Authorities initially blamed the FARC for the attack and the following extortion of the city’s authorities.
