Atletico Nacional to play against Colombian phenom

Medellin’s Atletico Nacional football team will play a friendly against Atletico Madrid.

The encounter will feature famed Colombian player Radamel Falcao Garcia suiting up for the Madrid side. Falcao is one of Colombia’s most well known strikers and still commands a strong following in his home nation.

The match will take place August 1 at the Atanasio Girardot Stadium in Medellin’s western sector.

The Medellin game is part of a South American tour for the Madrid team, who is set to play in the Venezuelan city of San Cristobal before arriving in Colombia. The tour will then end in San José, the capital of Costa Rica.

Falcao played for the Bogota’s Millonarios F.C youth team before leaving to play professionally in Argentina where he continued until 2007 when he made the move to the European league, playing for Portuguese team Porto.
