Arrested ERPAC suspect pleads not guilty

The only alleged member of neo-paramilitary group ERPAC who was arrested after the surprise release of 267 demobilizing neo-paramilitaries plead not guilty to conspiracy and drug trafficking charges Thursday.

Despite denying the charges, the alleged neo-paramilitary was sent to jail to await trial.

Following the controversial release of all but 17 members of ERPAC who surrendered last week, prosecutors issued arrest warrants against all on charges of conspiracy, arms trafficking and drug trafficking.

Since then, only one arrest — that of Jose Onofre Fernandez Rodriguez —  has been made.
