Argentine ‘Reggae Lover’ Dread Mar-i to play first Colombia show

Argentinian roots-reggae star Dread Mar-i will bring his soulful beats to Colombia for the first time, playing in Bogota and Medellin on October 22 and 23.

The dread-locked crooner (yes, he rocks dreads, just as his name would suggest) will be accompanied by Panamanian band Barbero 507 and Chilean artists Dru Dominguez & J-Beats, in a show that promises to be full of energy and soul.

Dread Mar-i began his solo career in 2005 after leaving the band Mensajeros (Messengers). He has since released four albums; “Hermanos” in 2006, “Amor-es” in 2008, “Vivi en do” in 2010 and his latest album “Tranquilo” in 2011.

The Spanish speaking press call Dread Mar-i a “Reggae Lover,” a title which refers to his romantic style of reggae fusion music which the press call “Reggae Roots y Lover.” Although the Argentine singer prefers to be known as simply a reggae artist, if you like smooth, soulful beats and romantic lyrics then Dread Mar-i is for you.

Ticket prices start at $33.
