Antioquia bus crash kills 2, injures 35

A bus accident in a town 30 miles south-west of Medellin, central Colombia, left two people dead and 35 injured Sunday afternoon.

The chiva bus crashed into a house in the town of Betulia after losing its brakes on a steep slope on the border of the Betulia municipality. The vehicle was returning to the part of the municipality named Vereda El Indio and was full of residents from the area who had left the town for the day to sell their products, reported Caracol Radio.

RCN Radio reported Monday morning that the four most seriously injured, one a seven year old minor, were transferred by an air force helicopter to a hospital in Medellin. The four exhibited head and chest injuries.

The other injured persons are being attended to at the German Velez Gutierrez hospital in Betulia.
