Santa Fe de Antioquia bustles with festivities

Summer brings warm weather and outdoor festivals to Santa Fe de Antioquia, a town north east Medellin that has big plans for this weekend.

The town is holding its summer festival on the Tonusco river this weekend and has made riverside beaches, stages for musicians, and beach volleyball courts.

On Sunday, there will be an inner tube race on the river, in the afternoon there will be a cooking competition and beach volleyball tournament, and in the evening the band Aguapanela de Medellin will serenade the festival goers.

For those who plan to travel to Santa Fe de Antioquia this weekend the roads are accessible to all traffic, said the director of Invias, Colombia’s Institute of National Roads, Juan Manuel Restrepo.
