Misia to bring fado to Colombia

Portuguese fado singer Misia will perform in Bogota and Medellin later this week.

The former cabaret dancer, who modernized orthodox fado, will sing at Medellin’s Teatro Mexico on Friday and in Bogota’s Teatro Metropolitano on Saturday.

Fado is a popular Portuguese music genre characterized by mournful tunes and lyrics. Misia developed a new style by adding sensuality, new instruments, and poetry to the traditional fado.
