Notorious drug trafficker “Loco Barrera,” captured in Venezuela in September, will be handed over to Colombian authorities next week, local media reported Friday.
According to Police Director General Jose Leon Riano, Venezuelan authorities have confirmed that Daniel “El Loco” Barrera, who has been in police custody for nearly two months, will finally be transferred sometime next week.
Once in Colombia, the extradition process will begin to move Barrera to the U.S. where he will be tried for drug trafficking and aggravated conspiracy charges, reported newspaper El Espectador.
El Loco Barrera was captured September 18 in Venezuela.
The infamous drug trafficker is recognized as the last of the great drug capos.
