Colombian stocks: Ecopetrol, Enka de Colombia, Fabricato rise

The following companies are having unusual price changes in Bogota trading. Stock symbols are in parentheses and prices are as of 12:29 p.m. New York time.

The IGBC Index increased 0.2 percent to 15,120.29, while the Colcap Index rose 0.2 percent to 1,774.63.

Ecopetrol SA (ECOPETL CB), Colombia’s largest oil company, advanced 0.6 percent to 3,965 pesos. Anadarko Petroleum Corp., a U.S. oil producer that has seven exploration blocks in Brazil, found signs of crude in an offshore well in the Atlantic Ocean that Ecopetrol has a 50 percent stake in.

Enka de Colombia SA (ENKA CB) gained 3.5 percent to 15 pesos, the highest price since October. The Medellin-based synthetic fibers maker increased on speculation an agreement to sell textiles made from recycled materials to Textiles Fabricato Tejicondor SA will boost earnings.

Textiles Fabricato Tejicondor SA (FABRI CB), Colombia’s biggest textile maker and exporter, climbed 3.8 percent to 30.30 pesos.
