Police arrest ‘Los Urabeños’ leader

Police on Wednesday arrested alias “Chayane” or “Fly,” who is thought to be the leader of drug trafficking gang “Los Urabeños,” in Cordoba, north-west Colombia.

Authorities have been hitting the drug gang hard recently, with around 20 members arrested in the last month for crimes such as aggravated assault, homicide, drug trafficking and the trafficking and carrying of arms.

In the past Los Urabeños have been linked to the drug trafficking organization of Maximiliano Bonilla, alias “Valenciano,” one of the drug lords who is believed to be responsible for the gang warfare currently plaguing the central Colombian city of Medellin.
