Colombian army deals blows to illegal armed groups

The Colombian army killed or captured several members of illegal armed groups in separate operations throughout the country, reported Radio Caracol.

In the central department of Antioquia, four alleged FARC members were killed along with three supposed members of major drug cartel, the Rastrojos, in two separate missions.

In the same statement, the military announced the capture of 18 supposed FARC guerrillas and five members of the Popular Liberation Army in operations in southern Colombia.

General Alejandro Navas, commander of the armed forces, reiterated that the combined efforts took down 30 members of illegal armed groups in less than 24 hours.
