A Colombian Congressman on Monday met with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court after filing a complaint against former Colombian president, Alvaro Uribe.
According to local media, Representative Ivan Cepeda met with prosecutor Fatou Bensouda in Rome concerning Uribe’s alleged participation in the DAS wiretapping scandal.
“The [former] president led a campaign of defamation and retaliation against me for my complaints about his alleged ties to criminal activities during his tenure as governor of Antioquia and the presidency of the Republic,” claimed Cepeda.
Cepeda said he was forced to take legal action due to the inefficiency and lack of independence in the House of Representatives’ investigation.
