Colombia celebrates World Milk Day

Colombian dairy producers are celebrating World Milk Day by handing out 100,000 litres of free milk to underprivileged neighborhoods in the cities of Medellin and Bogota.

The donations coincide with a national surplus in milk production.

According to Colombian dairy company Colanta, the nutritious freebies are expected to benefit some 50,000 Colombians, and will be distributed in Medellin’s El Corazon and La Gabriela neighborhoods, the Buenos Aires sector of Soacha, and La Paz in Bogota.
