Bogota to rename El Dorado Airport

The Colombian Constitutional Court approved the renaming of Bogota’s El Dorado Airport to Luis Carlos Galan Sarmiento Airport, after dismissing objections that it would be too expensive to implement and would cause “logistical problems.”

The airport will be named in memory of the Liberal politician who famously stood up to the powerful Medellin Cartel in the late ’80s and was assassinated in August 1989.
