Presidential candidates’ positions on ballot card announced

Colombia’s National Registry announced the positions of the presidential candidates on the ballot card that Colombians will use to elect their next president, when they go to the polls at the end of May, reports El Espectador.

Poll favorites will appear last on the ballot, with Conservative Party candidate Noemi Sanin seventh, Green Party candidate Antanas Mockus eighth and Partido de la U’s Juan Manuel Santos last in the ninth place.

Alianza Social Afrocolombiana candidate Jaime Araujo appears first on the ballot, followed by Robinson Devia, candidate for La Voz de la Conciencia.

The Liberal Party’s Rafael Pardo is third on the ballot; Cambio Radical’s German Vargas Lleras is fourth, Polo Democratico’s Gustavo Petro is fifth and Apertura Liberal’s Jairo Calderon is sixth.

Following these nine spaces will be a place for blank votes.

The ballot will feature the party logo and photos of the Presidential Candidate and the Vice Presidential Candidate.

The candidates’ positions on the ballot were chosen randomly.
