The Colombian army detained seven alleged members of the neo-paramilitary drug gang Los Rastrojos in the department of Choco on Thursday.
Along with the seven detained, including one woman, troops seized four AK-47s, two M-16s, one pistol, 1,115 rounds of ammunition, and four multipurpose vests, among other items.
According to the Eighth Army Aviation Commander, General Javier Rey, the items seized belonged to the military, and the captured and confiscated material was made available to the proper authorities to be used as evidence in the prosecution.
This comes only a few weeks after Colombian police seized a Los Rastrojos weapons cache in the department of Valle del Cauca.
