30 Days of French-Colombian Cultural Exchange

A new edition of information guide ‘France in Colombia 2009’ has been launched with the intention of promoting and strengthening positive exchanges between the two countries.

The fifth edition of this guide, which has been put together by the French Embassy, the Colombia-France Alliance and the French-Colombian Chamber of Industry and Trade will comprise of a varied agenda of activites, dating from the 1st to the 30th of October.

The activities and events will take place across 13 Colombian cities including Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, Cali, Barranquilla and Bucaramanga and are designed to provide an opportunity for Colombian’s and Francofiles to come together to exchange ideas, experiences, opinions as well as share cultural differences.

Among the events to be scheduled will be art exhibitions, film festivals, academic seminars and debates as well as presentations and discussions about literature, fashion, music and gastronomy.

According to newspaper El Tiempo, a ‘cine-concert’ project, developed by the National Conservatory for Music and Dance from Lyon will be presented to coincide with the commemoration of the Bicentennial of Independence of Colombia.
