VP Garzon returns to work

A visibly thinner Colombian Vice President Angelino Garzon met with President Juan Manuel Santos Monday morning at the Casa de Nariño to thank the leader for visiting him while he was in a Bogota clinic recovering from open heart surgery.

Garzon said he was anxious to get back to work and that a doctor had cleared him to work at “medium intensity” for the next two weeks. His first task will be a meeting with Colombian Foreign Minister Maria Angela Holguin.

The vice president was rushed to hospital just two days after he and Santos were sworn in to office and underwent an emergency heart bypass operation
