Violinist Itzhak Perlman to play Bogota

The Grammy and Oscar award-winning violinist, Itzhak Perlman, will play Bogota February 16, 2011.

Itzhak Perlman, winner of 15 Grammy awards and one Oscar for his violin solo in Schindler’s List, will perform at the Major Theatre in the Julio Mario Santodomingo Library in Bogota on February 16, at 8:00 PM.

The 66-year-old violinist was born in Tel Aviv and moved to New York to study at the Juilliard School.

Perlman contracted polio at age four and has since recovered, however he does use crutches or an electric scooter and plays while seated.
