Venezuela to extradite ELN-rebel soon: Colombia

Venezuela will extradite a captured commander of guerrilla group ELN “in the coming days,” the website of Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos reported after a meeting with Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez on Saturday.

Santos and Chavez met in the Brazilian capital of Brasilia where both attended the inauguration of President Dilma Rousseff.

According to Santos’ website, Chavez reiterated earlier promises that he will not allow the presence of Colombian illegal armed groups of Venezuelan territory.

Also, “as soon as the legal procedures are done,” Venezuela will extradite ELN commander Nilson Albian Teran Ferreirs, alias “Tulio,” to Colombia.

The official meeting between Chavez and Santos is the third since Santos took office in August 2010.
