Venezuela arrests 4 Colombian journalists

Venezuelan authorities on Friday arrested four Colombian journalists, two of which work for broadcaster RCN, the network denounced.

According to RCN director Clara Elvira Ospina, one of the station’s journalists and a cameraman were arrested, together with two journalists working for a local television channel in the Arauca department, bordering Venezuela.

“Our correspondent and our Arauca cameraman were detained when looking for news in the Venezuelan town of Nula,” said Ospina.

According to the director, the journalists were working on a news story about ELN boss Carlos Marin Guarin, alias “Pablito,” who allegedly is in the area east of the Colombian border after having escaped from his Colombian jail.
