Van Gogh makes 1st ever appearance in Colombia in digital exhibition

Scena Colombia’s “Vincent Van Gogh: The Color Genius” will be open in the Cafam Floresta Mall in Bogota from May 14 to June 15.

The exhibition will be in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the artist’s death and aims to unite art with technology.

The digital exhibition, which is arriving directly from Amsterdam, will have 226 major works on display, each digitally restored to represent how the works once looked in their original colors. All 226 pieces will be represented in their original sizes.

There will also be seven 3-dimensional animations, which will allow viewers to experience the dynamics of Van Gogh’s work from new and unseen angles.

In addition to the actual works on display, there will be a tour of Van Gogh’s life and works, and a painting competition to help promote Scena Colombia.

The competition will have 10 finalists whose works will be selected by a jury and then exhibited in a special wing of the exhibition. The winner will win a free trip to Holland, all expenses paid.

Vincent Van Gogh is known for his contribution to the development of contemporary art, and his intensity of color. His works influenced virtually every major phase of artistic styling throughout the 19th century, including realism, impressionism, and expressionism.

The exhibition will be held at 13A #86A-34 in Bogota. For more information, call 057-257-6596.
