US Coast Guard seizes 2 tons of cocaine off Colombia’s coast

The U.S. Coast Guard has seized almost two tons of cocaine from a Colombian drug cartel, local media reported Friday.

The go-fast boat had left Colombia’s southwestern Cauca department and entered international waters, allowing the U.S. Coast Guard to capture the boat 120 nautical miles from Bahia Solano on Colombia’s Pacific Coast.

The four people who were arrested on board will be prosecuted in the United States.

The men allegedly belong to the “Los Rastrojos” drug cartel, which operates in southern Colombia.

Police said the cocaine was bound for U.S. shores.
