Las Vegas police arrest Colombian surgeons after patient’s death

Two Colombian plastic surgeons were arrested in Las Vegas after an alleged patient of the doctors was found dead, several media report.

The two Medellin natives were arrested in Las Vegas’ McCarran international airport while on their way to Colombia.

Police said that the medics face murder charges and are being held without bail in a local detention center. Both will be making their initial appearance in court Monday.

According to the authorities, an arrest warrant against the two surgeons was issued after family members that went to pick up the victim after an operation found the location where the treatment was supposed to take place had been abandoned and their loved one was missing.

The victim, an unidentified woman, was later found in an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to the Las Vegas Review Journal, the Colombian surgeons were not listed as licensed physicians or practitioners on the website for the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.
