Former vice president Francisco Santos on Friday said that he expects former Colombia president Alvaro Uribe to be “at the top of the charts” for the 2014 Senate elections.
The divisive former president, who held office from 2002-2010, has reportedly said that he will tour the country promoting himself and his list of candidates for the Senate and House.
Though ineligible for entering the political arena again as a candidate for president, Uribe has expressed a firm disapproval of the way the Santos administration has steered the country.
When asked whether or not the former president’s efforts to build political gravity in the Senate would be in opposition of Juan Manuel Santos and his administration, Francisco Santos responded, “I think so…I think so. I think this [administration] is broken…but very well, that is politics.”
