Uribe to resume weekly broadcasts

Colombian government headquarters Casa de Nariño announced that President Alvaro Uribe will resume transmission of the town-hall meetings that he holds weekly around the country, reports radio Caracol.

Colombia’s Inspector General Alejandro Ordoñez advised the president to suspend the broadcasts in January, after candidates for the 2010-2014 presidency complained that the broadcasts could unfairly favor Uribe if he was allowed to run for a third term.
