Uribe to meet Clinton in El Salvador

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe will meet with United States
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Monday in El Salvador, Foreign
Minister Jaime Bermudez confirmed. Uribe and Clinton are in El Salvador
for the inauguration of the country’s new president Mauricio Funes.

According to Bermudez, Uribe and Clinton will meet on the sideline of the inauguration to revise a number of issues on the bilateral agenda.

Colombia’s foreign Minister told Caracol Radio that “soon” there will be an announcement about an official meeting between Uribe and U.S. President Alvaro Uribe.

Last Thursday, Uribe announced he already had a “constructive” telephone conversation with U.S. vice-President Joe Biden.
