Uribe resumes normal activities Thursday affter swine flu infection

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe will be fully resuming his
activities on Thursday. Doctors estimate he will be recovered from the
AH1N1, or swine flu, virus.

According to presidential spokesman Cesar Mauricio Velasquez, doctors were satisfied about the results of tests on the progress of the president’s flu.

Despite his illness ans his isolation in the presidential palace, Uribe is said to still be working and staying in touch with his cabinet through internet, blackberry and phone.

The Presidency announced that Armed Forces commander Freddy Padilla and Interior and Justice Minister Fabio Valencia Cossio tested negatively to AH1N1. Both officials had accompanied Uribe to his trip to Argentina where he allegedly caught the virus.
